Data sources
- Community Snow Observations data — models snow distribution on a daily time step and at spatial resolutions of 25-100 m. We assimilate snow depth measurements from snow recreationists and snow professionals.
- Snow Data Assimilation System (SNODAS) — models snow over the conterminous United States (plus a portion of Canada) on a daily time step, but at a spatial resolution of 1 km. SNODAS assimilates in numerous sources of data, including Snow Telemetry.
- MODIS — The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer is an instrument aboard the Terra and Aqua satellites. There are numerous products available from these missions. The MOD10A1 provides daily coverage at a 500 m spatial resolution.
- Sentinel 2 — The Copernicus Sentinel 2 mission provides revisit times on the order of 5 days and a spatial resolution of 10 - 50 m. Its imagery provides an unparalleled look at Earth's surface.
