Turnagain Pass riders! If you’re out enjoying the snow in the mountains during March 15 – April 15, let us know how deep the snow is – and get a chance to win awesome prizes! Scientific purpose: We’re modeling snow depth distribution in Turnagain Pass and we need measurements on the ground to validate the modeling results. Your contribution is very valuable to us. Your purpose: Get to know your mountains and the terrain you chose to enjoy. Snow variability is fascinating, and more hands-on knowledge about it can help you mitigate avalanche hazard. Pulling out your probe, measuring the snowpack depth, and submitting the observation in the Mountain Hub app takes less than a couple of minutes! Check out the tutorials here and pick up the Mountain Hub app for iOS or Android devices. The more measurements you submit, the better chance you have for winning! Individual measurements need to be at least 100 m / 30 ft apart. Have fun!
